When to go to Ivory Coast?

The climate of the Ivory Coast is different on both sides of the horizontal line passing through Yamoussoukro. In the south you are met with a very humid, equatorial climate, with significant rainfall from May to November, and a stable temperature of between 84°F and 89°F the rest of the year. In the north, by contrast, you find a tropical, semi-arid climate with a rain season running from June to October and a dry heat lasting from November to May which reaches its peak between March and May. The harmattan – a wind from the Sahara desert – dries everything in its path, especially in the mountainous regions of the north, and this occurs from December to February. Therefore the best months for a trip to the Ivory Coast are from November to March in order to be able to enjoy the hot, dry sunny days.
