Plan an amazing trip to Kazakhstan

A central Asian republic, Kazakhstan is bordered to the west by the Caspian Sea, Russia to the north and China to the south east. Once populated by nomadic peoples, this steppe country has mountain ranges reaching 7,000 metres altitude, desert plains and immense plateaus. It is an enormous territory, more than 10 times the size of France.
Little known, Kazakhstan is worth visiting for its wild natural beauty, rich cultural heritage and the great hospitality of its inhabitants.
Discovering the fabulous landscape and rich fauna will appeal to lovers of nature, adventure and trekking. Brown bears, ibex, lynx and the extremely rare snow leopard can be found in the heart of its numerous natural reserves.
Astana, the capital, in full economic growth, will surprise you with its futuristic architecture and the multitude of buildings designed by world famous architects, rising from the desert steppes.
More than 600 miles to the south, Almaty, the former capital, has become the cultural hub of the country, at the foot of the snow covered Trans-Ili-Alatau. History buffs will be impressed with the wealth of Kazakh cultural artefacts displayed in the museums, as well as its cathedral and by the beauty of the parks.
Sixty miles away, is the unmissable tomb of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi, built towards the end of the 14th century by Timur, and declared a UNESCO world heritage site in 2002.
If you like to stray from the beaten track and visit countries that retain their authenticity, Kazakhstan is for you.
