When to go to Morocco?
On the Atlantic coast, the climate is almost identical with 71°FF in Agadir in January and 86°FF in August. The water temperature is cool and doesn't exceed 69°FF in summer. The sea temperature is the same on the immense beaches of Essaouira, a destination well-known by surfers thanks to its perfect location and waves. The climate is warmer in Marrakesh, especially in summer when temperatures can exceed 104°F. To refresh yourself, head for the mountainous regions of the Atlas or the Rif where there are some beautiful hiking trails. Rainfall is quite scarce in this region.
The mountainous regions should be avoided during wintertime because of the cold temperatures and abundant snow. You can also find ski resorts in the Atlas Mountains, including the resort of Oukaïmden, 80 km/ 50 miles from Marrakech. If you don't want to endure the unbearable heat of the summer, we recommend you go to Marrakech in spring or in autumn. If you are planning a hiking trip, summer is a good time to visit the Rif and Atlas Mountains. As a result Morocco can be visited all year round, depending on the type of holidays you are planning.
