You can also visit the Vatican Museum, an assembly of 12 museums holding one of the largest art collections in the world. The Christian Museum displays numerous ancient Christian artefacts and in the Nicoline Chapel, you can see the decorative frescoes and ceiling representing the Book of Genesis, painted by Michelangelo. Raise your eyes to the ceiling in the Raphaël Rooms, a suite of reception rooms in the papal court, decorated with enormous frescoes painted by Raphaël.
You can also see the Swiss Guard, the military presence watching over the security of the Pope and the Vatican in their colourful red, yellow and blue striped uniforms. You can continue you visit through the magnificent parks and gardens, adorned with numerous statues, fountains and other monuments. A beautiful sight.
