When to go to Saint Lucia?

Saint Lucia has a tropical climate which is subdued owing to the presence of trade winds. Temperatures are steadily high all throughout the year 80°F on average). They change, for example, between 73°F and 84°F in January only to fluctuate between 77°F and 87°F during June. The dry season stretches from January to May to then make way for the rain season from June to December.

A Caribbean experience rich in pristine landscapes awaits you on this beautiful Antilles island. With its volcanic spires that are both emblematic and idyllic, the peaks of Saint Lucia unravel their magic on land just as they do under water. On the surface, there is more than a hundred varieties of plants as well as thirty species of bird having been identified within the tropical rainforest. Coral reefs, multicoloured fish, sea turtles or even whale sharks can also be observed from within the submerged section of the peaks. Head to Labas beach for sunbathing and relaxation before exploring the central market of Castries, which means diving into the heart of the local cuisine!
From January to May, the dry season is characterised by low rainfall, with 57mm of rain recorded during February – the least wet month of the year. The amount of sunshine is certainly pleasing, with 9 hours of daily sunshine in February and March and then 10 hours during April and May. The rainy days are still frequent but these are more limited than during the rain season. You should therefore count one day of sunshine for every day of rain during the period from January to March. The warm temperatures change between 75°F and 86°F during the month of April.
The month of June and the return of heavy rainfall signals the arrival of the rain season, which then stretches up into December. There is then 139mm of rain which is recorded during the first month of this wet season, with the record being held in the month of October with no less than 236mm. The rainy days are then a common occurrence, with up to 23 days of rain being recorded during July. September is then synonymous with being the hottest month of the year and offers temperatures varying between 77°F and 89°F.

From January to May, the dry season offers the best conditions for a trip in Saint Lucia . It is in fact this season which records the most sunny days. Regarding the temperatures, the tropical climate guarantees nice weather all throughout the year as well as a sea temperature of between 78°F and 84°F. The rain season proves to be a bad time to visit because of the increased rainfall and the prevailing humidity that stems from this.
